Privacy Policy

Filora is built to move files from your Windows PC to your Android phone without an account and without storing your files on our servers.

Last updated: October 3, 2026

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how Filora (“we”, “us”, or “the app”) handles information when you use the Filora Windows desktop app, the Filora Mobile Android app, and this website. Filora does not require registration and does not create user accounts.

2. Information we do not collect

We do not collect, store, or sell personal information such as:

  • Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or account credentials
  • Payment or billing details
  • Advertising identifiers
  • Copies of the files you share, except as they transit a connection you start

3. Information processed on your devices

Filora processes data locally on your PC and phone so sharing can work. This may include:

  • File names, sizes, and the file contents you choose to share or download
  • Local network information, such as your PC’s IP address, used to create a share link
  • An optional access password you set for a sharing session, stored only for that session
  • App settings needed to remember your last sharing mode

Files you save on Android are written to a Filora folder on your device, typically under Documents/Filora. We do not upload those files to a Filora cloud account.

Before a file is shared or received, the Windows app blocks risky file types such as programs, scripts, and installers. When Windows Defender is available, it scans the file on your PC. Filora does not upload files to a separate scanning service, and a blocked file is not shared.

4. How file transfers work

Local network mode. Files are sent over your Wi-Fi or PC hotspot between your own devices. They are not uploaded to Filora servers.

Global link mode. The Windows app creates a temporary public HTTPS link through a secure tunnel so your phone can download files from another network or mobile data. File contents pass through that tunnel only while a share session is active. We do not keep a copy of your files after the session ends. Anyone with the link (and password, if you set one) can access the shared files until you stop sharing.

5. Permissions

The Android app may request:

  • Camera — to scan Share QR codes and Wi-Fi QR codes
  • Storage / photos and files — to save downloads into the Filora folder
  • Network access — to connect to your PC over local Wi-Fi or the global link

The Windows app needs network access to serve files. It may use the PC camera to scan a Send QR when you receive files from your phone; if the camera is unavailable, you can paste the code instead. Administrator permission is only requested when you use automatic hotspot setup. You can deny a permission; some features will then be unavailable.

6. Third-party services

Filora may rely on third parties that have their own privacy policies:

  • Google Analytics — this website uses Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregated traffic (pages visited, approximate location, browser type, and referral source). Google may set cookies or use similar technologies. See Google’s Privacy Policy and Google Analytics opt-out
  • Google Play — if you install Filora Mobile from the Play Store, Google may collect app install and usage data under Google’s Privacy Policy
  • Tunnel provider (Global link) — the first Global link launch may download a tunnel tool used to create the temporary public link. Traffic during an active share session is processed by that provider to deliver the connection
  • This website — fonts and icons are loaded from Google Fonts and cdnjs. Those providers may receive your IP address and browser details when a page loads

This website does not use advertising cookies. Analytics data is used only to understand how visitors use the site.

7. Children’s privacy

Filora is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Data retention and your choices

Because we do not operate a Filora user database, there is no Filora account to delete. You can stop a share session at any time, uninstall the apps, and delete files from the Filora folder on your phone. Local app settings remain on your device until you remove the app.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the apps or this website change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised when that happens. Continued use of Filora after an update means you accept the revised policy.

10. Contact

Questions about this Privacy Policy can be sent through the Filora Mobile listing on Google Play or by using the support options provided with the app.
